Common Questions
Everything you need to know about DCF modelling training and our spreadsheet building program
Not at all. We cover everything from basic spreadsheet navigation through to building dynamic financial models. If you're comfortable opening Excel and following along, you're ready to begin. The training assumes no prior valuation experience.
In our Excel DCF Model Building course, most participants complete a functioning three-statement model (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow) over 4-6 weeks of study. That said, once you understand the core structure, you can adapt templates to new companies in a few hours.
The DCF Fundamentals Bootcamp covers the theory—time value of money, discount rates, terminal value—so you understand *why* DCF works. Excel DCF Model Building is hands-on: you're actually constructing models in spreadsheets, linking financial statements, and building formulas. Bootcamp first if you're new to valuation; Excel training if you've got the concepts down.
Absolutely. We work with real financial statements and walk through live examples, so the templates and techniques translate directly to companies you're researching. You'll build confidence modeling actual businesses, not hypothetical cases.
We're based in Ottawa but serve junior analysts across Canada. All training is delivered online, so whether you're in Toronto, Calgary, or Halifax, you can access the same materials and instruction. The content focuses on practical skills that apply everywhere in Canadian investment and corporate finance.
We provide access to our support team and a community forum where you can ask questions and share your work. Real model files are included so you can compare your setup to working examples, and we flag common mistakes to help you troubleshoot faster.
